Lessons are structured to meet the needs of the student. There is flexibility for shorter or longer sessions depending on your individual circumstances.
A memory trail approach and structure is used to give the pupil the optimum ability to learn and develop the relevant skills. The bulk of the lesson time is spent on your practice, and our aim is to get you working behind the wheel for as much time as possible. At the end of the lesson you will be listened to and asked to reflect on your own performance, what went well, what did not go so well, and what areas you feel need further improvement. We shall also discuss what topics you would like to work on next time.
Pricing structure:
Hourly rate: £40/hour
Discounted rate for 10 hours pre-paid block bookings £37.50/hour (£375 pre-paid)
All booked lessons are payable in advance by bank transfer before the start of your lesson or can be paid by cash at the start of the lesson.
Terms and Conditions
Licence checks – Prior to your first driving lesson with us you will need to present a valid driving licence (Provisional or Full). Your licence will also need to be checked online for any endorsements and to confirm that you are not disqualified from driving. [link – gov.uk how to obtain a driving licence check code]
Insurance and DBS check – We are fully insured for providing you with Driving Tuition along with our Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurances. DBS check is clean and up to date.
Lesson cancellations – We ask for 48 hours notice where possible prior to cancelling or re-arranging a booked lesson time. We shall endeavour to be as flexible as possible with any necessary changes. A charge of 50% of the lesson fee will be applied for late cancellations.
Traffic delays – On the rare occasions where we cannot meet you at the agreed start time due to road incidents or traffic jams etc. and are running late, we endeavour to communicate this to you as soon as possible.
Drink and drug policy – We reserve the right to refuse to deliver a lesson if there are any concerns which result in the student being unfit to drive (eg. due to any alcohol or drug usage that could affect their ability to drive safely, having a cold or cough or running a high temperature).
Refund policy – Any pre-paid hours unspent will be returned to the student in full upon written request.
Practical driving test day – For students completing the test in our car, the booking is normally a 2 hour or 3 hour session depending on the student’s location and this would include collection, a warm-up lesson, use of the car for the driving test and transport back to your home address.
Covid-19 precautions – The car controls, door handles, steering wheel etc. are wiped with alcohol before the start of each lesson. Face coverings are available and can be worn by the student and instructor. The car is also fitted with wind deflectors to all four door windows so that all windows can be kept lowered even during rain to allow better ventilation during the lesson.
